With only one day left, I would be remiss to not mention the Republique Kickstarter project. If you missed my links from the beginning of the campaign, the premise is that of a person trapped in an oppressive society. The main character, Hope, is not directly controlled by the player, rather guided and assisted, through a stealth-action series of obstacles in order for Hope to escape.
The project began as an iOS only title. The goal was (and is) to make a AAA iOS gaming experience, designed from the ground up for touch. About halfway through the Kickstarter, the team decided to create not just a simple port, but an enhanced version for PC and Mac. As they approach the end of the Kickstarter and also their goal, I’d like to again show my support for independently funded AAA gaming on iOS. For those who will be playing the PC/Mac version, I’m glad that such a thing exists.
