The Magazine, a new venture by Instapaper creator Marco Arment, takes everything from legacy magazine publishing and throws it away. No more 300MB downloads, no more unselectable text, no ads. It’s what many people have been asking for in an iOS Newsstand app.

The design is slick and modern with very little interface to get in the way. The content is top-notch (Arment himself writes the foreward, while the initial article offering includes Jason Snell, Guy English, Alex Payne, and Michael Lopp).

It’s a modern magazine for geeks, with all the features that a tech-savvy audience expects. Revenue is based on subscription, but the first seven days are free. Give it a try.
